Two leading multifamily housing stakeholders are contributing to the development of talent in the real estate and property management fields through a donation to Cleveland State University.

The NRP Group and The Millennia Cos., both headquartered in Cleveland, have donated $1.2 million to the university to help expand education, research, and experiential learning in real estate and property management. The donation will create The NRP & Millennia Center for Property Management within Cleveland State’s Monte Ahuja College of Business to house academic initiatives focused on property management and real estate.

The Center will include an applied research initiative and internship program, tailored to the needs of real estate and property management firms, as well as a scholarship program. It also will help continue the strides the Monte Ahuja College of Business has made over the past several years to expand industry-relevant research, community engagement, and workforce training, according to dean Sanjay Putrevu.

“Cleveland State University is dedicated to providing local and national industries with the skilled workforce needed to further economic growth and business advancement,” said university president Harlan Sands. “This new center will create innovative degree programs in growing fields that will directly benefit business in Northeast Ohio and beyond.”

The Center is particularly special for Frank T. Sinito, who is the CEO of The Millennia Cos. and a Cleveland State alumnus. “The Center will equip students with the skills necessary to excel in the industry; having earned a degree from CSU and engaged with student externs at Millennia, the opportunity to develop this program in partnership with my alma mater is a special honor.”

J. David Heller, CEO and co-founder of The NRP Group, added that the Center will help advance the level of expertise in the property management field as well as boost job growth and opportunity in Northeast Ohio and the broader region.

“We continually seek out A+ players for our property management team and throughout our company, and the creation of the Center will contribute significantly to developing that talent,” Heller said.
