Affectionately known as the ‘Corn Cob’ towers, this modern icon was the tallest reinforced-concrete structure in the world when completed. Goldberg had envisioned a ‘city within a city’ that capitalized on the concept of a mixed-use project that captured both daytime and nightlife activities. Marina Towers was one of the first postwar high-rises built downtown to address the housing needs of the time, and it [still evokes the memory of] a true residential renaissance today.
