An art-inspired apartment community operated by Bozzuto Management is now pre-leasing in Washington, D.C.

Studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments are available at The Modern at Art Place, a new community comprised of three residential buildings, with the first 90 apartments delivering in fall 2017 and 300,000 square feet of retail set to deliver by 2019. The development will be part of the multi-phase Art Place at Fort Totten planned unit development in the Northeast quadrant of the city.

Developed by The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation, The Modern features a designer gallery equipped for everything from billiard tournaments to poetry nights, and spaces for pop-up art exhibits or an indoor market. Additional amenities include bocce ball courts, a zen garden, a yoga studio, an indoor fitness center, a rooftop pool, and outdoor courtyards.

Studios at The Modern offer up to 494 square feet, one-bedrooms up to 770 square feet, and two-bedrooms up to 1,189 square feet. The Modern is centrally located less than a five-minute walk to a Metro (subway) station.

Upon completion, Art Place at Fort Totten will boast more than 300,000 square feet of retail, including the 47,000-square-foot Explore! Children’s Museum, the 41,825-square-foot XSport Fitness center, and 170,000 square feet of cultural and art spaces to entertain and educate community residents. Explore! Children’s Museum is slated to open in 2019 and will provide the community a venue to engage families, schools, and local organizations to extend the learning experience for children.

“We visualize The Modern as a unique building where families and individuals can enjoy the proximity to all that D.C. has to offer, in the comfortable confines of an accessible community,” says Calvin Cafritz, president of The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation.
