Florida-based Housing Trust Group (HTG) has broken ground on it second luxury multifamily community in Arizona. The developer has teamed with Treger Partners, a Scottsdale-based multifamily owner and developer, on Aviva – Goodyear, a new $71 million, 288-unit community in the Phoenix suburb of Goodyear.

This is HTG’s second Aviva multifamily community, a distinct brand that embraces eco-friendly, luxury living with wellness-oriented amenities. The developer delivered its first Aviva community in Mesa in 2018. The 325-unit development received a 2019 Multifamily Executive grand award in the garden-style category.

Aviva – Goodyear’s first units are scheduled to be delivered in September 2021, with the overall completion of the community slated for summer 2022.

“We had such an incredible response to our first Aviva community that we knew we had achieved something special and that it was a model worth replicating nationally, beginning with the Phoenix market,” said Matthew A. Rieger, HTG president and CEO. “There’s tremendous appetite right now for eco-friendly, lifestyle-focused properties that offer luxury amenities, and create opportunities for community engagement and connection. We’re excited to bring this new offering to Goodyear, and to partner with local experts Treger Partners on this initiative.”

Spanning across 16 acres, Aviva – Goodyear will offer one-, two-, and three-bedroom units with open floor plans, large kitchens featuring quartz and granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, walk-in closets, and private patios with storage.

Amenities will be consistent with the Aviva brand, with a 150-foot resort-style swimming pool with a spa and a second swimming pool, surrounded by cabana beds, chaise lounges, fire pits, and outdoor games. The 10,000-square-foot clubhouse will include a media and game room as well as co-working spaces with private conference rooms. The health and wellness center will feature smart cardio machines, free weights, boxing, and a yoga/spin studio with a 24/7 virtual trainer. Additional amenities include a playground with covered seating areas, a basketball court, and a bark park. In addition, Aviva – Goodyear will include 43 covered garages, four electric car-charging stations, carports, and additional storage.

The community, which will feature dual-glazed, high-efficiency windows, Energy Star appliances, low-flow showerheads and faucets, and weather-sealed insulated doors, will be certified to the National Green Building Standard.

Partners on the development include Eric Miller Architects as the designer and local general contractor Chasse Building Team. KSE Design Group serves as the civil engineer, Lawrence Lake Interiors as the interior designer, and The Design Element as the landscape architect. Mark-Taylor Residential will oversee leasing and management, with rents starting at $1,375 per month. The development team recently closed on the financing to start construction, with Dwight Capital originating the $55 million new construction Department of Housing and Urban Development-insured loan.
