As the population continues to grow in Reno, Nevada, so does the demand for independent living housing. To meet the need, real estate investment firm The Wolff Co. has created the 146-unit Revel Rancharrah, a luxury resort-style community tailor-made for active adults 55 and older.

The garden-style development is located in the Rancharrah master-planned community, which was the former estate of the legendary gaming magnate Bill Harrah, in southwest Reno. The exterior architectural design ties into the master plan, the surrounding neighborhood, and the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Designed by architect Todd & Associates, hyperlocal materials, textures, and art allow the seniors to feel grounded and connect with their surroundings. In addition, natural woods, custom artwork of the local mountain ranges, and a deep natural color palette pay homage to the area’s landscape. The residents’ balconies as well as the common spaces were designed to take advantage of Reno’s scenic mountain views.

“The approach to senior living and accessibility was to incorporate it into the design in a way that felt natural and inclusive, as opposed to clinical and exclusive, to allow the spaces to feel more ageless and comfortable for all residents and guests. Patterns and colors were thoughtfully selected to aid in memory retention, wayfinding, comfort, and sense of place,” stated The Wolff Co.

Revel Rancharrah is part of The Wolff Co.’s collection of senior living communities that emphasizes independence, connection, and wellness. To achieve those priorities, it focuses on high-end amenity offerings and thoughtful details throughout.

A highlight of the community is its array of culinary options, from a modern-American restaurant and pub to private and outdoor dining. Indoor amenities include a full-service salon and spa, a wellness and fitness center, a theater, a creative studio, and an indoor pool. A patio with seating for dining and socializing, a fireplace, and community gardens grace the outdoors. The goal of each amenity is to foster community and socialization as well as learning and growth.

While maintaining a modern and independent vibe, the units were designed to accommodate accessible living, with countertop heights, the width of hallways and doorways, as well as bathrooms complying with accessibility codes. Other offerings for the seniors include weekly housekeeping, laundry, 24-hour concierge services, a business center, and transportation.
