- Newport Beach, Calif.-based Vintage Senior Living has appointed Dan W. Ogden to the newly created post of COO. He will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day functions of the company, including human resources, operations and accounting. Prior to joining VSL, Ogden was an executive with Englewood, Colo.-based Archstone-Smith.
- Stephen Mensinger has joined Irvine, Calif.-based SunCal Cos. as the president of its newly formed multifamily division, where he will direct the development of new apartment product within SunCal’s existing land inventory and lead the company in its acquisition of existing apartment communities throughout its target markets. They will also integrate luxury apartments into their portfolio. Previous to joining SunCal, Mensinger spent 20 years with real estate magnate and former U.S. Ambassador George Argyros, most recently as the president of Argyros’ apartment division.
- Washington, D.C.-based Fore Property Co. has named Brad Miller national partner. With more than 30 years of real estate experience, Miller will be responsible for overseeing all of Fore’s development activities throughout the United States. Prior to joining Fore, Miller served in senior management positions with Lincoln Property Co., Archstone-Smith, and Olympus Real Estate Partners.
- Sares-Regis Group has named Michael Bissell (right) president of the company’s multifamily property management division. Bissell will succeed James V. Thomas, who is retiring at the end of this year after 16 years with the Irvine, Calif.-based real estate company. An industry veteran, Bissell has held senior posts with Equity Residential Trust, Archstone-Smith, The Irvine Co., Western National Properties, and McKinley Properties.
- Donald J. Keena has been appointed vice president and regional manager of Sperry Van Ness Asset Management & Leasing. Keena will be responsible for facilitating company growth in its Irvine, Los Angeles, and Inland Empire/Riverside, Calif., offices. Keena previously served as a lease investment specialist for the company’s commercial real estate advisors division.
- Steve Levy has been promoted to vice president of operations at Sky Development. In addition to keeping his former responsibilities as project manager, Levy is now charged with overseeing the construction of the company’s newest endeavor, City Park Aventura, a mixed-use lifestyle community. Levy will also act as liaison between Sky Development, tenants, and staff and will identify investment opportunities for presentation to the CEO. WestStone Communities has named Patrick Tice vice president of sales, a position charged with managing all aspects of sales for WestStone, one of the top three multifamily residential developers in the Grand Canyon State. Tice brings more than 15 years of experience in executing strategic initiatives, assessing the competition, determing property valuations, and managing sales.
- Herbert E. Morse, a founder of Boston-based Preservation of Affordable Housing, has been elected chairman of the organization’s board of directors. Previously, Morse was managing partner of the Boston office of KPMG. Also, Georgia Murray has joined the organization as its director. She previously served as a board member of Franklin Street Properties and currently serves as a board member for the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City, the Crittenden Women’s Union, and the Multifamily Housing Institute, of which she is a past president.
- Urban Housing Group has appointed Peter Cossavella vice president of development. He is responsible for the sourcing and execution of real estate development projects in Southern California. He will also identify and evaluate potential development opportunities, handle deal negotiations, form and lead teams to complete comprehensive due diligence reviews, handle the entitlement process, and secure necessary local, state, and federal permit requirements.
- Tim Taylor has been promoted from general manager for the Sun Lakes Country Club Homeowner Association to vice president of large-scale management for Professional Community Management of California. Taylor will help lead the management division and facilitate the company’s ongoing best practice training programs for on-site managers at PCM’s 84,000 units.
