Drew Goldman seeks acquisitions and more at Lane.

Shea Properties has named Colm Macken as president and CEO of the Aliso Viejo, Calif., based multifamily firm. Macken replaces longtime leader W. William Gaboury, who is retiring. Most recently, Macken served as the president and COO of Forest City Enterprises’ West Coast commercial group, where he directed the development of projects costing in excess of $1 billion, including work-live-play communities in California and Colorado. Shea Properties also has hired Kirk Roloff as senior vice president of acquisitions and development to expand and diversify Shea’s West Coast portfolio. Roloff previously was vice president of development/land acquisition with Archstone-Smith Trust, where he was responsible for multifamily transactions throughout Southern California.

CB Richard Ellis has named Bill Roohan head of the company’s multifamily investment team in the Washington, D.C., and Baltimore areas, as vice chairman. Roohan, who is one of only a handful of CB Richard Ellis brokers to receive this title, joined the firm in 1984.

To lead its expansion into the Northeast, Atlanta-based Lane Co. has hired Steven D. McCleaf as regional partner of the new office. He will pursue an aggressive investment program in the greater Washington, D.C., area, including suburban Maryland and Northern Virginia. Previously he was a vice president for Gables Residential Trust.

Stephen E. Cox has joined Urban Investment Partners of Washington, D.C., as CFO. Previously, he was a principal at WaterStone Capital in Bethesda, Md., where he was involved in the placement of debt and equity financing. He plans to strengthen ongoing activities in real estate investment, asset management, and administration at Urban Investment Partners.
