SatisFacts Research has added to its team. Jeff Proebstle, formerly managing director of MessagePro’s leasing and maintenance call center operation, is now SatisFacts’ vice president of sales. The company has also partnered with industry consultants Kelly Treesh, president of Multifamily Consulting, and Dennis Smillie, president of Multifamily Solutions and strategic advisor to SatisFacts. The company’s new consulting services group will focus on providing operational audits (as they relate to resident retention), technology evaluations, change and process management support, and ancillary income evaluations/support.
Jerry LaPointe has been appointed vice president of acquisitions for Western National Realty Advisors, the apartment investment arm of Western National Group. Previously, he was a senior vice president for Capstone Development Corp., a company focused on college and university housing.
AvalonBay Communities has hired Walter A. Rebenson as vice president of development, responsible for leading AvalonBay’s Chicago operation and, in particular, sourcing and developing new assets for the company in the Chicago metropolitan market. Previously, Rebenson was COO for The Fordham Co., a Chicago luxury condominium developer.
Sperry Van Ness has named David Baird as the national director of multifamily for the California-based commercial real estate investment brokerage firm. As national director of multifamily, Baird, who will continue to serve as senior vice president for Sperry Van Ness in Las Vegas, will work with local brokers on deal opportunities for national accounts.
The firm has also named Corey Waite senior vice president of its Pasadena, Calif., office. Previously, he served as senior managing director in the CB Richard Ellis global corporate services business development division, integrating new accounts and supervising GCS marketing efforts. Elsewhere, Sperry Van Ness is continuing to expand. In Charlotte, the firm has added Troy Legge, Eddie Blanton, Phil Davis, Chris Sheppard, Matt Brown, and Robert Podewils as advisors of Sperry Van Ness/Lighthouse Commercial Realty. In Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley, Sperry Van Ness has added Rory Ferlauto, who will serve as vice president; Don Hudson, senior vice president; and Nancy Uy, senior advisor. They all previously worked for CB Richard Ellis.
The Bozzuto Group has promoted several employees. Charles Battle is now preconstruction manager at Bozzuto Construction Co., where he oversees the company’s mixed-use Wheaton Kiss and Ride project in Wheaton, Md., which combines retail space, a parking garage, and affordable apartment homes. Brian Grosholz also has been promoted to preconstruction manager at Bozzuto, where he is responsible for the company’s Shirlington Village project in Arlington, Va., and the Sheffield Greens Apartments and The Arbors at Arundel Preserve, both in Maryland.
Rochelle E. Lento has joined the real estate practice of Dykema Gossett, a Michigan-based law firm. Previously, she was a clinical law professor at the University of Michigan Law School and executive director of the Legal Assistance for Urban Communities Clinic, which represents affordable housing developers.
Gregory D. Wissman has joined Thomas E. Hall & Associates as director of residential design. His wide-ranging practice has included work in rental and for-sale residential design, including single- and multifamily development, affordable housing, adaptive reuse, mixed-use, urban and suburban infill, active adult, and more. Previously, he directed daily operations of the architectural staff at Barton & Associates.
Rex Jones has joined Cushman & Wakefield’s Texas multifamily brokerage group. Jones, previously a senior advisor with Sperry Van Ness, will lead Cushman & Wakefield’s multifamily efforts in Austin, Texas.
Intracorp San Francisco, a developer of high-density infill multifamily projects, has named Robert Hertzfeld vice president of development. Previously, he was development director at Lend Lease and did mixed-use and other projects.
