Pinnacle Downtown and Kohl Partners are turning the former Hahnes building in Montclair, N.J., into The Siena, a seven-story mixed-use project. The Siena will include 101 units with 10 percent reserved as affordable, 38,800 square feet of retail space, and 132 residential parking spaces.
Avalon Bay Communities Inc. is developing Avalon Chrystie Place, the first of a four-building development in Manhattan‘s Lower East Side. Chrystie Place will include 361 mixed-income apartments, a 42,000-square-foot community center, and two floors of retail space. Completion is scheduled for December 2005.
KOR Cos. and Time Equities broke ground on Montgomery Greene, a 113-unit luxury condominium in Jersey City, N.J. Units will feature oak plank floors, maple cabinetry, granite slab countertops, and stainless steel appliances. Amenities will include 24-hour concierge, valet parking, rooftop terrace with a wet bar, and fitness center.
Cornerstone Group broke ground on Marsh Harbour, a 402-unit townhome community in Riviera Beach, Fla. The first project in the company’s new townhome division, the community will feature ceramic tiling flooring in units, private garages, pool, tennis courts, and clubhouse. Completion is scheduled for January 2005.
Neumann Homes is developing Chatham Grove, a 99-unit active adult community in Aurora, Ill. Two-bedroom units will offer two bathrooms, eat-in kitchens, patios, and attached garages. Amenities will include a clubhouse and bike path running through the property.
Gray Development Group opened Bacara and Montelena at the Canyons, a 629-unit apartment community in Phoenix. Studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units feature stainless steel appliances, ceramic tile kitchens and entries, and washers and dryers. Amenities include four pools and spas, java bar, fitness center, and theater.
Osprey Ventures Sebring is developing The Groves at Victoria Park, a 122-unit affordable independent living community in Sebring, Fla. One-and two-bedroom units will feature carpeting, dishwashers, and emergency pull cords. Amenities will include a two-story lobby, library and sitting area, fitness room, and game room. The community is scheduled to open July 2005.
Renzi Construction & Development broke ground on Logan View Condominiums, a 78-unit condominium community in Chicago. Units will feature 10-foot ceilings with exposed ductwork, granite countertops, and private balconies or terraces. Amenities will include 18,000 square feet of retail space, fitness center, rooftop deck, and indoor parking. Occupancy is scheduled for December 2005.
Synergy Properties is developing Seaport Channelside, a 412-unit apartment community in Tampa, Fla. Forum Architecture & Interior Design Inc. is designing the property, which will include a 750-space parking garage and 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. A future phase will include 287 high-rise units and 23,000 square feet of retail space.
National Church Residences opened the second phase of Hilltop Senior Village, a 200-unit affordable senior community in Columbus, Ohio. Phase two features 100 one- and two-bedroom units. The 6,600-square-foot Dorrian Hilltop Senior Center also opened, offering a range of services such as dining programs and wellness and prevention programs.
Lane Co. broke ground on its fourth property in Atlantic Station, a major redevelopment project in Atlanta. The new property, yet to be named, will offer 242 units and surround Commons Park. Completion is scheduled for spring 2006.
Westminster Realty Corp. is developing Landings at Caspian Point, a $175 million redevelopment project in Atlantic City, N.J. The waterfront community will include 390 luxury for-sale units, 10,000 square feet of retail space, and a 5,000-square-foot restaurant. Amenities will include bike paths, a planned marina, pool, and fitness center. Completion is scheduled for spring 2007.
Vintage Senior Housing is developing Avalon at Sonoma, a 93-unit assisted living community in Sonoma, Calif. A 22-room “Recollections” neighborhood caters to residents with Alzheimer’s and other memory-related disorders. Amenities will include a dining room, library, beauty shop, and landscaped courtyard. Occupancy is scheduled for spring 2005.
