Thoughtfully designed to maximize the number of units and amenities with views of the nearby Spring Lake, the Lake House by Alta in the Dr. Phillips neighborhood of Orlando, Fla., offers a 299-unit mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment homes. Developed by Atlanta-based Wood Partners—NMHC’s No. 3 developer and No. 3 builder for 2020—the community also includes a full suite of amenities for “a lifestyle of casual yet refined lakefront living.”

The property’s saltwater pool area, in particular, sits lakeside with a shaded pool pavilion, covered poolside cabanas, a fire pit and hammock grove, grilling stations, dining and lounging areas, and an easy-to-use, electric pizza oven. Made by barbecue manufacturer Cal Flame, the pizza oven is located under the pavilion, adjacent to the pool in the primary courtyard, and allows residents to craft their own homemade pizzas while lounging by the pool.

In addition to the specialty oven, residents have access to a two-story clubhouse that includes a wine tasting room with temperature-controlled lockers for spirit storage and a gourmet demonstration kitchen. The property’s three distinct elevated courtyards give residents space to enjoy their food and libations outside.
