A San Francisco Senior Housing Community Blends Into Its Neighborhood

Pinnacle Downtown and City Living are developing Maxwell Place on the Hudson, an 832-unit luxury waterfront condominium in Hoboken, N.J. Michael Graves & Associates is designing the project, which will include 206,000 square feet of commercial space, a resident’s club, rooftop pool, and 24-hour concierge service.

Peninsula at Longneck is developing The Peninsula on the Indian River Bay, a luxury residential golf resort in Millsboro, Del. The nine-neighborhood community will include 325 luxury townhomes, 378 luxury condominiums, and more than 700 single-family homes. Amenities will include a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, a gourmet market, two pools, freshwater lagoon, kayak center, and fitness center and spa. The first homes will open summer 2005.

Pacific West Management is managing Providence on the Park, a 280-unit new affordable housing community in Dallas. The two- and three-bedroom units feature 9-foot ceilings, ceiling fans, ice makers, dishwashers, and outside storage space. Amenities include a clubhouse and business center, children’s center, sports court, and laundry room.

Dubin Residential is developing Monroe Place, a for-sale community on the site of the former Wertheimer Box Factory in Chicago’s West Loop. The development will include 33 town-homes and 34 soft-loft condominiums. Kitchens will feature hardwood flooring, granite countertops, and stainless steel Whirlpool appliances.

Corcoran Jennison Cos. broke ground on The Peninsula, a 335-unit apartment community in Dorchester, Mass. Forty-six units will be reserved for affordable housing. Amenities will include a fitness center, pool, and easy access to a 32-mile landscaped jog and bike path.

Weber + Thompson is designing two Seattle communities for Trammell Crow Residential. The 197-unit Alexan Cascade will feature two stories of live/work space and a rooftop garden. Alexan Kirkland will offer 120 upscale condominium units, retail space, and a public/private landscaped courtyard.

Mc Shane Construction Corp. completed Hanover Place, a 150-unit independent senior community in Tinley Park, Ill. Developed by Oberon Development Co., the property offers a fitness center, game room, laundry facilities on each floor, and computer lab.

Cornerstone Group completed Bristol Bay, a 300-unit gated rental community in Tampa, Fla. One-, two-, and three-bedroom units feature window treatments, energy efficient appliances, and washer/dryer connections. Amenities include a clubhouse, business center, billiards room, and fitness center.

Brooklyn Bridge Blvd. opened Boulevard East, a 99-unit condominium community in Brooklyn, N.Y. Studios and one- and two-bed room units feature maple hardwood floors, satin finish hardware, and integrated network technology. Amenities include a courtyard, laundry facilities, clubroom, and fitness center.

Lane Co. and Harold A. Dawson C o. are completing Decatur Renaissance, a 168-unit condominium community in Decatur, Ga. One- and two-bedroom units feature balconies, high ceilings, hardwood floors, and full-sized washers and dryers. Amenities include a fitness center, yoga room, and media center.

Silverwood Homes is developing WestLee Condominium, a 128-unit luxury condominium in Arlington, Va. Units will feature 9- and 10-foot ceilings, stainless steel kitchen appliances, and baths with limestone surrounds. Amenities will include a fitness center, concierge, and clubroom with a kitchen and library. Prices start in the $300,000 range.

E.A. Fish Associates broke ground on Latitude on the River, a 452-unit mixed-use condominium in Miami. Studios and one-, two-, and three-bedroom units will feature stainless steel appliances and granite counter-tops. Amenities will include a riverside café, home theater, billiard room, yoga room, and a Tai Chi meditation garden offering 360-degree views. The property will be completed in early 2007.

Finlay Development is developing The Meeting house a t Bartow in Bartow, Fla. The 160-unit senior housing project, which will be spread across four buildings, will include a pool, clubhouse, and picnic pavilion. The project, being built by Summit Contractors, is slated to be completed in October 2005.

Westminster Communities is developing the Waterford at East Brunswick in New Jersey, which will have 148 one-and two-bedroom condominiums designed for active adults 55 years and older. The property features The Waterford Club, which offers a fitness center and a great room with a fireplace, cozy seating, and a large-screen television.

Alliance Residential Co. broke ground on two rental properties in San Antonio. The 282-unit Broadstone Colonnade will feature a clubhouse with an indoor basketball court, cyber lounge, and fitness center. Completion is scheduled for March 2005. The 252-unit Broadstone Ranch, slated for completion in August 2005, will offer a limestone veneer and garage parking.

The Laconia Housing Authority is turning the Scott & Williams building, a former knitting mill in Laconia, N.H., into 60 units of affordable housing. The building will offer one-, two-, and three-bedroom units with retail space and a daycare center on the first floor.
