Allegion Acquires Gatewise to Expand Smart Access Control Solutions
Allegion, a global security products and solutions provider, has acquired Gatewise, a provider of smart access control solutions in the multifamily marketplace, through one of its subsidiaries.
Founded in 2017 and based in Houston, Gatewise is a software-as-a-service provider that offers modern and retrofit-friendly gate entry systems for multifamily communities. ButterflyMX Debuts QR Code Intercom
ButterflyMX, a cloud-based property access and security platform, has launched the QR Code Intercom, touting it as a first for the real estate industry. The QR Code Intercom is designed to simplify property entry without the cost or complexity of traditional access control hardware, allowing visitors, staff, and residents to access properties with a smartphone.Â
By scanning a mounted QR code, users launch a secure, web-based intercom experience on their smartphone with video, audio, and a searchable directory. It allows properties to extend access control to secondary entrances, garages, and other areas where traditional systems maybe have been cost-prohibitive.
“Our QR Code Intercom is a smart, simple, and secure way for property developers, owners, and managers to offer their residents, staff, and visitors many of the benefits of ButterflyMX’s industry-leading access control and security platform,” said CEO Aaron Rudenstine. “It’s ideal for budget-conscious properties or those with multiple entryways that want to simplify resident, visitor, and delivery access without the need for all of the features found in our Video Intercom System. With our new QR Code Intercom, properties can reduce upfront costs while still providing the award-winning access experience that ButterflyMX is known for.” butterflymx.com
PetScreening Launches AI Tool
PetScreening, a leading pet policy compliance software platform, has launched PetComply.ai, an exclusive feature that uses artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics, to help properties identify pets that renters haven’t disclosed.
PetComply.ai is available free for PetScreening users, enabling operators to maximize compliances with pet policies across their portfolios.
“PetScreening is reimagining how rental housing properties can achieve 100% pet compliance,” said founder and CEO John Bradford. “PetComply.ai brings unprecedented efficiency and analytical power to operators’ efforts to make sure they are receiving the pet-related fees they are due. This tool will not only save time but will also provide a powerful boost to the bottom line. By creating a framework and set of solutions that benefit property managers and pet-owning residents alike, we are unlocking tremendous value for the industry while ensuring safer and happier communities.”
According to PetScreening, operators lose an estimated $16 billion in pet-related fees a year because approximately 25% of renters fail to disclose their pets. In a recent 60-day case study with four leading property management firms, PetComply.ai was responsible for identifying and prompting approximately 3,600 pet owners to declare unregistered and unknown pets. petscreening.com
