  • MetroPlains has opened the 24-unit Riverwood Pines Apartments, an adaptive reuse of Our Lady of Angels Academy, which was built in 1911. The building in Little Falls, Minn., served as a boarding school until 1968 and has sat vacant since 1974. The renovation, designed by JLG Architects, maintains the building’s exterior brick masonry, historic entry, and original staircases.
  • George E. Walsh Building is developing G.E.W. Lofts, a $13 million historic mixed-use renovation in St. Louis’s Washington Avenue Loft District. The project, designed by Rosemann & Associates, will include 60 loft condominiums and more than 36,000 square feet of commercial/retail space. Amenities will include a pool, fitness center, and community gathering area. Completion is expected for fall 2007.
  • Manor Properties Group is developing Casa Loma, a 16-unit condo community in Harlem, N.Y. The renovated building blends pre-war charm and modern design with exposed restored brick, 11-foot ceilings, stainless steel kitchen appliances, and granite countertops.
